Day 08 Sunday 11th Febuary

Not much to report. We found our way to a bar last night, had a few drinks, found our way to another bar and then eventually, we were both knackered so came back to the hotel... and its been the first night here that I have slept all the way through.

We went for breakfast at Buskers again.... our breakfast spot near Beehive corner. Adelaide is full of Newcastle Jets supporters.. as they play Adelaide United(both soccer clubs) at 17:30 for a place in the Grand Final against Melbourne. Lee and I decided to take a tour into the Adelaide Hills again... and found our way up to Mount Lofty... a large hill that sits near 800m above Adelaide. The road snaked up the hill and down the other side. There was some spectacular views of Adelaide and the urban sprawl around it.
We then moved on to a German styled town of Hahndorf, a small township just 25km's from Adelaide.
The town is full of craft shops and cafes/bars/hotels... all selling some kind of German bier and food (plenty of snitzle, bockwurst etc... and all boasting to serve 'the best coffee in town'. There were even men in Leiderhosen prancing around with accordians......

After our small trip to Germanland, Lee got behind the wheel and the sat nav took us back to Adelaide. We dropped the car off and then went shopping down the main street.
We returned empty handed... and bewildered at Australian Fashion and haircuts.... (see additional note)

Additional observations:
Haircuts: they are bad. There are so many people with long greasy hair... the sort of hair that seems to just get to a certain length then stop growing. Then theres the people who get their hair cut but seem to forget to ask to get the back of their hair cut... taking on a mullet look.
BWS: beer wine and spirits. There are a few different variations along the theme... but its like a drive through off license. What a fantastic idea...

Its been a bit cloudy today... near enough everyday so far has been sunny with little cloud cover. It even tried to rain a little today.
We've decided to watch the second final in the bar ... in fact... I've been sat here since 3pm watching it, with my laptop open, tip tapping away. England ar 4/117... but there have been a few rain breaks... and more expected ... so I'm tipping for a draw.
We're off to see Little Britain tonight.....mmmh HHYYESSSSSSSSSsss. We missed them when they were on tour in the UK.... London is a pain in the arse to get to!
It will be interesting to see how the show translates over here!

Got a taxi to Adelaides Entertainment centre. Our cabbie... a pome from Cantebury in Kent. He moved here over 8 years ago, and basically said South Australia is a great place to live and bring up family... as long as you can get a job. This hasn't been the first time this has come across to us in conversation.

We departed the taxi and went into the venue and ... found the bar which had the cricket on... in the short journey... the Aussies had lost a couple of wickets.

We went in bang on the dot and the show soon started. Our seats were the best we could get... the first show the night before was a sell out... today the show was around 80% capacity. Little britain trandferred to he stage pretty well.... and there were some very funny 'improvs'.

When the show finished we went back to the bar and watched the end of the cricket.... not sure there were any mexican waves in Sydney Cricket Ground as the weather drew away the crowds.
We have a big few days travelling around over the next couple of days so we decided to disappear off to bed.
